Health Contraindications
Infrared Sauna , Mud/ Herbal baths, and Steam Showers
rules and regulations
· Sauna and steam shower users must be 18 years and older.
· Pregnant women and people suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high or low blood pressure should not enter the infrared sauna, baths, and/or steam showers without prior medical consultation and permission from their doctor. Check with a doctor prior to use if in poor health or under medical care before use of any sauna, steam showers, and bathing services.
· Those with inflammation of an inner organ or blood vessel, significant vascular changes in the brain, sensitivity to heat, or cancer must also speak with a doctor before treatment.
· Exit immediately if uncomfortable, dizzy, or sleepy. Staying too long in a heated area is capable of causing overheating.
· Use of these services in conjunction with consumption of alcohol, drugs, or medication is capable of causing unconsciousness.
Do not exceed 30 minutes for infrared sauna and mud/herbal baths. Do not exceed 15 minutes for steam showers.
Shirodhara Treatment
Though shirodhara is generally a safe treatment, there are instances where it is not beneficial. Because shirodhara casues energy in the body to move in an upward direction, it is important not to use it when energy should be directed in a downward flow. For example:

Lactation

Being under the influence of drugs or alchol

Rashes of the face, neck, and scalp

Recent facial or scalp surgery

High aversion to oil
